Does the gold on the knives wear off over time?
No! Knives with golden blades undergo a Titanium Nitride treatment using the PVD method. It's a sublimation process where we evaporate titanium, it bonds with nitrogen, and adheres to the blade through chemical interactions. This coating is safe, clean, and highly durable.
Do the products have warranty?
BV guarantees high quality in its products and offers a lifetime warranty on them.
Where are BV knives manufactured?
The knives are produced in the city of Farroupilha, in our own cutlery, where each knife is crafted by hand. Thus, each product is unique!
How to preserve your BV knives?
It's important to wash the knives after using each food item, as they accumulate bacteria that can transfer to other foods. Wash them with warm water, neutral detergent, and a soft sponge; dry the blade from the back towards the edge, never the opposite. Store in a suitable place;
Avoid washing the knife with the thick part of the sponge or other abrasive materials that can damage the blade's edge and interfere with the mirrored finish of the blade;
Avoid storing the knives with other utensils, as friction between them damages the edge. The correct way is to store them separately or choose a paper sheath, knife blocks, or magnetic bars. Magnetic bars offer safety and easy access. In the case of magnetic bars, the magnet must be strong enough to hold the blades, and the knives should not be greasy, as they can fall easily.
Does BV have a physical store?
We do not have a physical store in the US yet.
Does the BV knife edge last a long time?
The main characteristic of the cut is to be very precise, ensuring a very ALIGNED and HIGH-RESISTANCE edge, as the blade undergoes integral heat treatment, which generates greater hardness and makes the edge last much longer.
